Auditions - Students

Welcome to the Cal-Western Regional NATS 2025-26 Student Auditions! We have categories for students of all ages, in Commercial Music, Musical Theater, and Classical genres.  Any student of a Cal-Western NATS teacher may enter; these auditions are separate from the local chapter auditions. 

Your teacher is your primary contact for the full audition process. While this website will be updated throughout the audition process, your teacher will have the most up to date information available. Your teacher will also register you for all regional rounds, including the preliminary video audition. Registration closes on November 6. 

Entry fees are $50 for the first category and $30 for any additional categories. This fee covers all rounds of the auditions* and participation in the conference at San Jose State University, which is geared toward students.  

All students participate in the preliminary video round. Please make sure to follow all the video guidelines below. Your teacher will help you choose songs to meet the repertoire requirements for your category. Students sing the same pieces at all levels of the auditions, including the Nationals if they advance. Your age and grade level as of September 1, 2025 determines which category you participate in. 

The Regional auditions are a wonderful opportunity to perform and receive feedback from our region’s excellent teachers. We look forward to hearing all the talent our region has to offer!!

*If you choose to use a NATS pianist in the semi-final auditions, there will be a separate fee.
