The 2026 CAL-Western Regional Conference will be held on the campus of San Jose State University in San Jose, California on January 16-18, 2026.
Parking on campus at SJSU is going to be $8/day.

The Westin San Jose–modest, clean, well located (personal recommendation)
Marriott across the street from The Westin (usually only 30-40 more dollars than The Westin)

All hotels above are within walking distance, and are walkable at night. We’ve strolled around during events, and there is usually security patrolling the Hilton/Sheraton plaza.
Another option that is a little cheaper than those above, are hotels around the San Jose Mineta airport (cheaper, but will require personal transportation or rely on the VTA). The airport is only a few minutes from downtown San Jose.

Transportation and Parking
Clipper card (same used for Caltrain) can be used for the VTA (lightrail). https://www.vta.org/
VTA runs all along downtown and can connect you in 15 minutes to the Pruneyard plaza with two Michelin bib gourmand restaurants; Luna-Mexican Kitchen, and Orchard City Kitchen. https://www.thepruneyard.com/
Many downtown garages in the area are marked very clearly for public parking, and mostly charge by the hour, but also have flat rates for the day. They are usually cheaper than hotel parking.
